From Traditional Roots to Professional Service

Steven Orihuela is a dedicated public servant, business-minded leader, and lifelong advocate for the people of Inyo County. Born and raised in the Eastern Sierra, Steven has built his career on a foundation of service, accountability, and results. He holds a degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Business Administration from University of Arizona - where he has used education to drive practical solutions for rural communities. As he previously served as Chairman of the Bishop Paiute Tribe, Steven has led major initiatives focused on economic development, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability, always guided by a commitment to strengthen opportunities for local families.

During his leadership, Steven has helped advance transformative projects that support both tribal citizens and the broader regional economy. His work includes expanding enterprise operations, advancing the development of a tribally owned hotel, retail center, gas station, and securing federal support for critical water rights efforts in the Owens Valley. He has prioritized transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strong governance - helping maintain clean audits, financial stability, and strategic growth. Steven believes that when local leadership is grounded in collaboration and accountability, entire communities benefit.

Steven is also a devoted husband and father. He is married to his high school sweetheart, and together they have built a strong family rooted in love, values, and community. They are proud parents of three wonderful children, who inspire his commitment to creating a better future for the next generation. Now running for Inyo County District 3 Supervisor, Steven Orihuela is focused on putting people over politics. His campaign centers on strengthening local infrastructure, supporting small businesses, improving access to healthcare and emergency services, and ensuring responsible stewardship of natural resources. Steven is committed to working across communities: County, City, and Tribal, to build a stronger, more resilient Inyo County. Above all, he believes leadership means listening first, acting with integrity, and delivering real results for the people he serves.

A Path of Service

Community Advocacy

Rooted in service to his community, Steven began his leadership journey through neighborhood advocacy within the Bishop Paiute community. He worked closely with tribal members to elevate local priorities, ensure community voices were heard, and advocate for the needs of families on the reservation.

Committed Leadership

Building on that foundation, Steven continues to serve on the Tribal Council while also contributing to local and national boards and committees. Through this experience, he has developed a strong understanding of governance, economic development, and strategic decision making, always prioritizing transparency, accountability, and long term sustainability.

The Decision to Act

Guided by his experience and commitment to service, Steven chose to run for Inyo County District 3 Supervisor to bring a grounded, community driven perspective to county leadership and help ensure a strong future for all residents.
